Estero: Estuary – Where the water meets the sea. Working with Clever Marketing, I wanted to create a logo for their client Estero Church that was meaningful and timeless. Estero Church dates back as early as 1919 and has been seen as the heart of the Estero community. During the majority of their existence they had been identified by their denomination and had never had a dedicated logo or brand. They were now ready to stand on their own.
Like the city and church name, the logo was inspired by the winding waters of the surrounding estuaries, and the waves of the sea where both meet in Estero Bay. The cross in the center stands for their foundation, and is a nod to the only mark on their first building in 1919. The beautiful color palette, developed by Florida natives on the Clever team, was inspired by the waters and beaches of the Sunshine State.
With branding established, the Clever team went to work developing a new website as I designed other digital assets, in a combined effort to help launch and announce Estero Church's new name, logo, website, and overall brand. Shortly after, I developed a brand book as well as expanded the logo to a new sub-brand for their online community by a simple but purposeful addition of the word 'online,' which I hand illustrated. This project was a beautiful example of how working with a great creative team, both client and agency, helps produce a brand that tells a meaningful story and looks good doing it!
